  • Founder & Managing Partner

Holden Markoff is the Founder and Managing Partner of Pines Capital Group, where he oversees the firm's overall strategic direction, investor relations, and day-to-day operations. With over a decade of experience in the sports industry, Holden brings a unique blend of expertise across sports marketing, brand development, and investment management. He leads the firm's efforts across investment sourcing, capital raising, and portfolio partnerships.

Before founding Pines, Holden was a Managing Partner at Inter Venture Sports, a sports-focused investment and advisory platform. There, he led capital-raising initiatives and was actively involved in sourcing and executing deals across multiple verticals within the sports ecosystem.

Holden’s entrepreneurial career began with the launch of CTA Marketing Group, a full-service agency focused on athlete representation, brand partnerships, and sports marketing strategy. Through CTA, he worked directly with professional athletes and rights holders to build brand value through innovative sponsorships, media activations, and fan engagement.

Following CTA, Holden joined Steinberg Sports & Entertainment, one of the most established and respected sports agencies in the industry. At Steinberg, he worked alongside top executives supporting athlete marketing strategy, partnership development, and brand-building initiatives for high-profile NFL and MLB clients. His experience there broadened his understanding of the commercial landscape of professional sports and strengthened the foundation for his later work in investment and team ownership.

Holden attended Texas Christian University & St. John’s University.

I built Pines Capital Group on the belief that sports are more than just games – they’re one of the most powerful ecosystems in the world. I've spent over a decade operating within the global sports industry, from athlete marketing and brand partnerships to investment and deal structuring. Through those experiences, I saw a fundamental gap: while sports were becoming more commercialized, the capital behind the scenes was not evolving at the same pace.

Too often, athlete influence was under-leveraged, capital was misaligned with long-term strategy, and institutional investors lacked the insider perspective needed to navigate the complexity of sport.

I launched Pines Capital to solve that disconnect. Rooted in deep industry experience, Pines Capital is a firm I built to sit at the intersection of sports, culture, and capital, designed to bridge athlete-driven influence with institutional investment discipline. Our deal-by-deal model brings flexibility, clarity, and alignment to every opportunity, enabling us to partner with athletes, operators, and investors who share our belief in sport as a transformative force. This is not just capital—it’s capital activated.
